SatoshiPay, as a micropayment system provides a possibility for fast and inexpensive small transactions using cryptocurrency. Even if you don’t know anything about cryptocurrency, you can use your browser to reward the content you consider valuable. On these web pages, you will find some exclusive written or audio materials, not published anywhere else. Some of those articles are independent, and some may be connected into a kind of an online course. When you come across such an article, a part of it will be hidden. At the same time, in the lower right corner of your screen, you will see a blue circle. That means you have to pay a certain amount of Lumens (cryptocurrency on the Stellar blockchain).
Continue reading for an explanation of how to top up your browser with Lumens (there is a good possibility that as a new user you can get 100 XLM for free!) and with them reward the effort, time, and knowledge necessary for creating the content of these pages. SatoshiPay is a global system, and you can use Lumens from SatosyPay wallet in your browser on web pages od other publishers, creative people, and writers who recognized the advantages of such an elegant system of exchanging life energy.
During 2018. I participated in promotional activities of SatoshyPay system, testing the applications and distribution of free Lumens. I intended to promote the idea of a decentralized economy. Many of my readers already received free crypto money. If you are already received some free Lumens during previous promotions, and you already spend them, now you can easily buy some more. Follow the instructions.
1. Chose the browser you want to use as a SatpshyPay wallet
Chose the browser you will use for reading an exclusive article or following online courses. Open a payable article with the material you want to buy.
When such an article is on your screen, look for a blue circle in the right lower corner. You will see a zero – 0 – written in the middle of it.
For example, SatoshiPay system is active in this article, so you must be able to see a blue circle. If you see it, your browser is usable for SatoshiPay. If you don’t see it, try some other browser. Most browsers are compatible with SatoshiPay, but some may need little adjustments. For example, if you use Brave, you will have to enable cookies. Otherwise, it will not work. Chrome, FireFox, and most mainstream browsers are working fine. Bear in mind that, once you top up your browser with Lumens, you will be able to use them only in that browser. There is a possibility to transfer your Lumens in SatoshiPay wallet in another browser, but it’s a little more technical. You can find the instruction on official SatoshiPay pages. Once you have Lumens in your browser, it is good to make a wallet export, or backup, from time to time. You will not keep a large amount of money in there, but nevertheless, take care, because computers do crash, and other technical problems do happen.
2. Click on a blue circle in the lower right corner of the screen
After that, click on „Top-up,“ and then follow simple instructions and buy 40 Lumens (XLM) or more. You can pay with your PayPal account, credit card, or you can transfer the funds from your Stellar wallet if you have one. When the process is done (it will be fast, no waiting needed), in the middle of the blue circle you will see the number of Lumens you now have.
From time to time, SatoshiPay and Stellar Foundation distributes free funds as a part of global or regional promotions. If some of these promotions are active, when you click on „Top-up,“ besides usual payment options, you will see „Claim XXX Lumens for free.“ Usually, I participate in those promotions and can offer to my user’s a certain amount of invitations.
In that case, under „type your invite code“ write adriankezele (small letters, no spaces). Then click on „Claim your free credit.“ After that, you will be redirected on Stellar Foundation pages. To confirm that you are a real person, a not a robot, or a program misusing the intention of free distribution of Lumens, you will need a cell phone to receive a code via text message. Bear in mind that you may receive free Lumens only once. If everything is ok, you will be redirected again on the page you started from (that page, if you are doing it from here), and the blue circle will tell you how much Lumens you have now (usually it is 100 XLM).
Every time you browse a page with SatoshyPay enabled – with this browser on this computer – you will see the blue circle in the lower right corner of your screen. Lumens are yours to spend where and how you want, but you can not send Lumens out of your browser wallet.
When you have a certain amount of Lumens, you may click on „Pay X“ in the article you want to read. After that, the hidden part of the article will be available to you (or the download will be enabled, or the audio file will be playable, etc.).
Some publisher chose to use SatoshiPay as a donation option, so you can reward them if you want to support their work. For example, if you find the information in this article useful, and you have received 100 XLM free, you could make a microdonation of 5 XLM by clicking on the blue button below.
I hope you like the simplicity of SatoshiPay and that you will use it often. Bear in mind that there is a deeper meaning behind such a simple application. Every time you use cryptocurrency, you are supporting a decentralized future and saying yes to the changes in the economic and financial system of the world.
